Cafuné
Effective date: 27 September 2026
Cafuné ("we", "us") is currently operated by its founder as an unincorporated venture based in the United Kingdom; a registered company will be named here once incorporation completes. These terms cover the Cafuné iOS app (including builds distributed through Apple's TestFlight), the Cafuné web app, and this website. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 where a higher age applies locally) to create an account. You're responsible for keeping access to your sign-in email or Apple ID secure, and for what happens under your account.
Cafuné is a pre-release public beta. It is provided "as is" and "as available", with no warranty of any kind and no guaranteed uptime or service-level commitment. Features may change, break, or be removed without notice while we're in beta, and catalogue entries, ratings, and scan results may be incomplete or wrong.
iOS beta builds are distributed through Apple's TestFlight, which is also subject to Apple's own terms. Each TestFlight build expires after 90 days; keep TestFlight installed to receive new builds. Beta features may not carry over to a public App Store release.
Feedback is the point of a beta, and we're grateful for it. If you send us feedback — through TestFlight, by email, or otherwise — you let us use it to improve Cafuné without any obligation to you. Please don't include other people's personal data in screenshots you send.
You agree not to:
You retain ownership of the reviews, recipes, comments, and photos you submit. By posting them, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute that content within Cafuné and its promotional surfaces, and to make the technical changes needed to do so (such as resizing photos). You confirm you have the right to post what you submit.
The licence continues for content that stays on the service after you delete your account (which is then shown as "Anonymous" — see the Privacy Policy) and ends when that content is deleted. You can delete your own ratings, recipes, and comments in the app at any time.
The coffee catalogue itself (names, producers, tasting data, and similar) belongs to the service, not to individual contributors.
We may remove any content, or restrict any account, that we reasonably believe breaks these terms or the law. To report content, including a copyright or trademark concern, email legal@cafuneapp.com with a link to or description of the item; we aim to review reports within a few days.
You can stop using Cafuné and delete your account at any time, in the app under Profile → Delete account. We may suspend or terminate your access at our discretion at any time during the beta, including for suspected abuse, and may end the beta itself. Where we can, we'll give notice first.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of a beta product — including data loss, service interruption, or inaccurate catalogue or recognition results. The service is free during the beta. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
We may update these terms as Cafuné changes. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, announced in the app or in the TestFlight release notes. Continuing to use Cafuné after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and may bring a claim in your local courts.
Questions about these terms: legal@cafuneapp.com.
